We attended a birthday party for one of our granddaughters. We were impressed with the number of activities for the children but extremely disappointed by the entrance fees.
A great place for the entire family. Zip lines, slides, corn pits, candy cannon, pig races and much much more! What a great way to spend the day! We had a wonderful time!
I was maid of honor at my cousin's wedding. We were very excited and so pleased to be having her wedding at such a beautiful venue. It was everything she wanted and more, and certainly was (for the most part) worth the money. The catering was outstanding; probably the best wedding food I have ever had. Unfortunately, the owner, Stacey, and the employee working the wedding, Amanda, caused many problems beginning at the rehearsal and going throughout the wedding. At the rehearsal, we were approached about our music being "too loud" and that the neighbors would call the cops if we did not turn it down. The music certainly was not as loud as it could have been, and I explained to her that the bride did not want speakers in her pictures for the ceremony. Standing up where the bride and groom were to get married, the music was at the perfect volume for everyone to hear. We were not informed of the noise ordinance while looking at the venue. When I talked to the owner, she told me she was a "neighbor". She never told me she was the owner. Come the wedding day, the FATHER OF THE BRIDE was approached by Amanda AFTER WALKING DOWN THE AISLE that the music needed to be turned down. No congratulations? Just a complaint? We were not treated with respect. It ruined the days leading up and added stress that was not needed. After approaching the owner days after the wedding, she said that she was "attacked" and there was nothing she could do for us. The venue certainly was not inexpensive, paying for a fire, nachos and root beer floats, which was an add on. I am extremely disappointed in how this situation was handled. If you are looking for a wedding venue, there are many similar to this one who will actually respect their customers and not accuse their guests of "attacking" them.
Great place for fall family fun! So much to do and almost all of it is included in your admission fee. Could spend the entire day there. We were there for 4 hours and needed more time to do everything. Had 7 kids there ages 1-6 and they all had fun and the adults were all pretty happy. Worth the trip. Would go back next year if they don’t change a thing. Have been to other fall festivals and they don’t hold a candle to this place.
My parents and my mother-in-law are all in their 80s. The grounds have no paved walkways and present a risk for the elderly to even walk to the pavilion. It seemed ridiculous to charge $33.00 ($11/person over 59) for the right to sit at a picnic table while their great-granddaughter had cake and opened presents. There was no way they could walk around to see her enjoying all the activities but they still wanted to be there to show their love and support.
With all that said, I cannot recommend this Fall Festival when there are places like Knoebels Amusement Park available with no up-front fees. Iron Mills Farmstead does offer a great variety of activities for families and the pig races are a lot of fun. If you don't mind paying the fees it's the place to go.
Iron Mills Farmstead is the best pumpkin patch around! We went for the first time last weekend and truly loved it! They have a big corn maze, small corn maze, pig races, jumping pillows, pumpkin bowling, train ride, corn beach, bikes, small zip line (for parents too), slides, playgrounds, animals, hayride, games, and more...seriously SOOO MUCH to do there. It's almost an hour away from us (New Wilmington), but definitely worth the drive. Also, it's $14/person, but well worth the price for everything there is to do. You could easily spend the day there. (We did) They have food stands or you could pack a picnic lunch and bring it in with you. They also have fire pits available for rent. Hands down, the best pumpkin patch around! Give it a try.
